Random Musician Friend Feature - Skeye

These are my friends John and Lindsey, and they are the duo known as "Skeye".

They do amazing covers of popular songs, and have an album coming out next month (July)! You can follow the release of their album here.

Now, it takes a lot for me to go out of my way and promote something, so have a listen to their cover of Zero7's "In the Waiting Line" and see how criminally underrated they are:

LA Artist Feature - Jincallo

LA dream-hop artist Jincallo has recently released his "Spirit of Saturn" EP (for free, I might add), which has gotten the blogosphere hastily embedding and acclaiming.

Really this is just a tease of what his forthcoming full release will entail, but this will hold me over until then.

Artist Feature - Death Grips (@ Low End Theory tonight!)

Death Grips' has rocketed into the limelight, due in part to having legendary drummer Zach Hill in their midst.

Raw and intense, when I first heard their single "Guillotine (It Goes Yah)", I was floored by how intensely hard to swallow their music is. Channeling Wu-Tang, the abrasiveness of their style is refreshing and unique in the hip-hop scene these days.

They'll be debuting tonight at Low End Theory, so I suppose I'll leave my final verdict until I've seen them live. If you're in LA, it's worth hearing them out, it will be an intense experience, either good or bad.

Not Your Average Skate Video

Extremities: Aryeh Kraus attaches a camera to his arms, legs, head, and bottom of the board and skates around town.

Awesomeness ensues.

Behind the Scenes of Famous Movies (PICS)

Found this gem earlier today, and thought I should share. These are assorted pictures of cast/directors hanging out on set during filming, and reveal clever set design and personalities of the actors.

Here's my favorite one, from the movie Faust:

Do Not Miss Low End Theory Tonight.

YOU HEARD ME. If you're not there then i'll personally come to wherever you are and wag my finger at you. I don't care if you live in North Korea, you better make it.

Well actually I guess you wouldn't be reading this if you lived in DPRK...

Anyway.. why the excitement?

KODE9! Young Montana? !

If I need to say any more it's probably because you're not aware of their music. Not to mention Kode9 is rumored to be carrying around new Burial tunes.
